Act 170 Region 5 merger Committee

This page contains the members, agendas and minutes of the Act 170 Region 5 Merger Committee.

Under Act 170, each school district is required to participate in an exploratory merger committee. Voters in each district will have final say on the formation of any new, larger district recommended by the local merger committee.

Merger committees will begin meeting by October 2026 and will provide recommendations by September 2027. Any recommended mergers will be voted on in March 2028 and, if approved, will go into effect for the 2029-2030 school year.

Merger committees will be comprised proportionally of appointed school board members from each member school district.
